artist statement for the "studies in phrenology and physiognomy" series

In this series, I am studying the similarities between a person and their extracted wisdom teeth. I am proving, in a faux-scientific study, that the physical characteristics of a wisdom tooth define the body that they were extracted from. This type of science is in the fashion of Phrenological and Physiognomical research. These were studies that compared traits of a person with their facial features or skull formation. I am then producing a one-of-a-kind piece for each of the subjects from the study. (See blog for a paper explaining the similarities, differences and meaning to my pieces)
