Bound for Estonia
Hello everyone! This fall I'm traveling to Tallinn, Estonia to work with my favorite jewelry artist Tanel Veenre. His work incorporates wood and found objects with a unique European perspective. I hope to gain a first-hand understanding of his work and others in the Baltic states. Jewelry artists of this region of the world feature a higher concentration of wood in their work because of its traditional connotation and availability.
I anticipate that my work will be greatly affected by the culture and history of the region and people. When I return I will be writing and presenting about my experiences. This opportunity has the potential to completely change my perspective on art jewelry and my materials.
Please take a moment to look through my kickstarter and consider donating. Even if you aren't able to donate, please spread the word!! This kickstarter is one way I have chosen to begin to fund this endeavor. I am trying to gain support from within my networks and the public. Each pledge increment has an associated gift; personalized postcards to one-of-a-kind jewelry. Of course, any help or advice you can provide will be greatly appreciated. Any questions can be directed to robertthomasmullen@gmail.com.
